How a ‘free’ mobile game will be ‘a $1 billion-a-year business’ by 2021

By the time it’s finished, The Last of Us 2 is expected to be the biggest game of the year.

That’s according to a new study by research firm IHS Markit that predicts that the game will reach $1.5 billion in sales over its first three months of release.

IHS Markits latest estimate puts the game’s worldwide earnings at $2.4 billion, which is more than the $1bn grossed by the most recent Call of Duty game.

That puts it in a good position to surpass the $2bn revenue from the first Call of Juarez game and surpass the billion-dollar milestone set by The Last Of Us, which was released in December.

It’s a good sign for the survival of the genre, which had been struggling to compete with other genres, such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4.

“The Last of You” isn’t the only mobile game to reach a billion-selling milestone.

In November, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt hit 1 billion sales.

The Witcher was also the first mobile game ever to reach the billion mark.

It’s not clear if the Witcher 3 will make any additional big-budget hits over the next few years.

But if it does, it could put pressure on the survival game industry.

“The Witcher 3 is a game that we can’t be happy with,” IHS senior director of business research Jonathan Sommers told Business Insider.

“It has the potential to become a billion dollar game.

And the longer we wait, the more we lose out.”

The Witcher is available now on iOS, Android and PC.
