Police: Good dog charity stolen from Good Samaritans

A Good Samaritan who found the dog of his friend’s fiance stolen from his car said he will never forget the gesture.

The Good Samarita is a dog that is trained to go out to help people with their problems and has been a symbol of the goodwill that has been shown by Good Samarits since the early 1900s.

It was found on Monday, but police are still investigating the theft.

The couple was leaving a party at the home of a friend in the suburb of Wollongong when they were approached by the thief who told them to get down.

The Good Sams were out on a run in the morning, when they came across the stolen dog.

They called police and got in touch with the Good Samarit and said they had just spotted the stolen car, and they wanted to help.

“It was an incredible sight to see, and I’m sure it was very heartwarming for them to see that,” Mr Matson said.

Police believe the dog was stolen at around 6:00am on Monday morning, about 20 minutes after the couple had left their home.

Officers have spoken to witnesses, and are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
