The nonprofit charity for charity goods collection is raising $1.3 million for cancer survivors through a new campaign, which aims to help families and businesses in need.
Charity for Good launched the campaign in August with the goal of raising $20 million.
The organization aims to raise $5 million for local cancer charities, and will also be matching charitable donations to specific cancer organizations.
The organization is raising the money for the following local charities:Baldwin Park Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, is currently accepting donations through September 3rd.
The charity has also set up an Indiegogo page for people to contribute to its fund-raising efforts.
“I want to thank all of you for the overwhelming support we have received, as well as the incredible outpouring of support from the community,” Charity for Charity Goods Director, Amy Hickey said in a statement.
“We know that our mission is to help the communities we serve in the most positive and impactful way possible, and we are excited to share this with you through this campaign.”
In addition to raising money to help local cancer survivors, Charity for Charities is also launching an Indirect Relief Fund to help with the expenses associated with bringing the campaign to fruition.
The Indirect Fund will allow donors to contribute towards the cost of fundraising and supplies for the campaign.
In addition, the organization is launching a “donate now” page for individuals, as the campaign is only $25 a month, and also for companies and individuals.
The goal is to provide the support and guidance that will make it possible for the fundraising efforts to take off and succeed, Hickey added.
To make sure the campaign gets off the ground, Charity For Charity Goods is offering a free, downloadable app that lets people sign up for its mailing list.
The app will send you a free monthly newsletter with information about the fundraising campaign.
