Good Friday is one of Perth’s most important festivals, with an estimated 150,000 people attending the event every year.
Organisers have been working to ensure all proceeds raised go towards charity.
Here’s what you need to know about the event.
What is Good Friday?
Good Friday, officially known as Good Friday Day, is the last day of the Christian calendar on November 4.
It is the fourth Friday in November and is the holiest day of our religious year.
Good Fridays are celebrated on the eve of Christ’s resurrection, when Jesus and Mary Magdalene join the angels at Mount Sinai for a “fast and joyous” commemoration.
They were chosen as the most beautiful people in the world because of their beauty and grace.
In some countries, the fast begins before sunrise and is observed on the last Friday of the month.
The day of celebration is also known as the “Great Jubilee”.

It also offers opportunities to learn about the work of Good Thursday charities, and to experience the great food, music and art offered by Good Thursday.
Organiser and director of Good Friday Australia, Michael Gannon, said people are looking for a great day to give, but that there are some good reasons to donate.
“People are going to give to the local charity, and they’re going to donate to the Greater Perth Community Health Foundation or the local health board, and there’s a good chance they’re giving to charities in other cities as well,” he said.
“They’re all looking for the same thing: to give away something, and that’s what Good Friday offers.”
